Energy Society of India (ESOI) is an apex professional body and think-tank. It convenes the energy ecosystem to accelerate India’s secure, self-reliant energy transition.
The Energy Society of India (ESOI) is an apex professional body and think-tank. It convenes research, industry, finance, and policymakers to strengthen India’s energy security and accelerate a secure, self-reliant energy transition. Its agenda aligns with Viksit Bharat @2047, Atmanirbhar Bharat, Make in India, Digital India, and Start-up India, and it supports mission-mode programmes such as PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, alongside long-horizon pathways including nuclear scale-up and thorium-linked innovation. ESOI translates emerging solutions, next-generation renewables, hydrogen and clean fuels, advanced reactors, storage, and AI-enabled grids into deployable models by combining evidence, standards, and investability. This work is increasingly shaped by the AI revolution and on-demand energy needs. Rising compute loads, digital infrastructure, electrified mobility, and distributed generation require faster forecasting, flexible operations, and responsive demand-side systems. Through publications and advisory, convenings, research collaboration, capital bridging, patent support, and training, ESOI strengthens execution capacity and reduces friction from pilot to scale. It advances transparent validation and high-trust collaboration to normalise best practices across India’s energy ecosystem.
Board of Advisors
ESOI’s Board of Advisors comprises distinguished experts from India’s energy industry, academic institutions and government organizations. This high-level advisory council guides ESOI’s strategic direction, ensures technical rigor, and provides oversight on major initiatives. Members bring expertise in areas such as renewable energy, thermal power, nuclear and thorium technology, hydrogen fuel, energy economics and policy. They help align ESOI’s programs with national priorities and foster partnerships across sectors. Through board-led committees and working groups, ESOI continuously refines its research agenda and policy recommendations to serve India’s evolving energy needs.
