Virtual Panel, February 2026: AI and India's On-Demand Energy Capacity

ESOI’s February 2026 Virtual Panel convenes leaders from policy, grid operations, industry, and technology to examine a defining question for India’s next growth cycle: how to power AI-led expansion with reliable, flexible, and responsive energy systems. The discussion will address rising compute loads, expanding digital infrastructure, electrified mobility, and distributed generation, and the operational implications for forecasting, dispatch, storage, and demand-side response.

The panel will explore practical pathways for “on-demand” capacity—how to improve grid flexibility, integrate storage and fast-ramping resources, scale digitalisation and AI in grid operations, and strengthen standards for interoperability, data governance, and cybersecurity. It will also examine investment and market design questions, including how to structure bankable flexibility projects and align incentives across generators, DISCOMs, and consumers.
